Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS)

It is a non-invasive and multidimensional approach, which is used, in treating traumatic-stress resulting from abuse and neglect related attachment problems. It believes that desensitization to past trauma will cause the desired change in person’s emotional and behavioral well-being. DNMS’ approach to trauma treatment is based on the idea that individuals who grow up receiving devaluing messages from caregivers and not having their needs met may leave certain “parts of self” in childhood. This approach mainly works on the issues related to childhood trauma and it effect on adulthood, many individuals have reported changes in self-esteem, improved cognitive and behavioral well-being and reduction of internal conflict.
