Mr. Deepali Bedi
I am Deepali Bedi, qualified Clinical Psychologist with RCI recognized degree in M. Phil. Clinical Psychology, and having more than a decade of experience in my field. I have worked with reputed Hospitals like Max Mental Health Department, Lady Harding Medical College, Air Force CME and Delhi Psychiatric Centre. I have also worked with many software industry, BPO industry, multinationals, consumer based companies, engineering based companies, Media industry and also banks. Apart from these, I have worked with schools like Alpine Convent School, Lancers International School, The Heritage School, The Air Force School, The Ardee World School, Akashya Pratishthan School, etc. I have trained professors, teachers and students of psychology for therapeutic interventions. I have supervised students for research projects and internships. I have worked as a member of Internal Complaint Committee (POSH) with few organizations. According to World Health Organization (WHO), by 2020, depression will be the second most prevalent medical condition in the India. Besides these findings, people in India are not seeking most of the professional help available for them. This is mainly due to the taboo that “Mad go to Psychologist/ Psychiatrist”. I, at Sukoon, am also running a social awareness program named as ‘Sukoon: Pledge to seek help’ to address this taboo. The common public, with help of volunteers, talks, and electronic media are educated about Psychological processes, Psychiatric illnesses, Distress and Conflicts experienced by various people. I am currently with Sukoon Psychotherapy Center wherein I am involved in psychometric testing, Individual, Family & Group Psychotherapy for Depression, anxiety, Personality issues, stress, work life balance, relationship issues, marital issues, woman cell issues, other gender issues and various psychiatric and non-psychiatric problems. The corporate clients included TUI India ltd., Tata Consultancy Services, Hero motor Corp., Bechtel, Freescale, Motherson Sumi Infotech & Designs Limited, Jabong, Tower-Vision, M3M India, The Rising Sun, Kyzen Infotech Pvt Ltd, Fiserv, Blackrock, Accenture, Procter and Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, Hewlett-Packard, Larsen and Toubro, Google, HSBC, RBS, Colt, Sapient, AON Hewitt, Credit-Swiss, Ernst & Young, Dunnhumby, etc. My biggest corporate association was with American Express where I worked for 4 yrs. as a work place counsellor. It was very enriching experiences for me where I got an opportunity to see individual cases for psychodynamic psychotherapy under the supervision of Dr Anurag Mishra (Psychiatrist and Psychoanalytical psychotherapist). I have been able to develop skills for Psychoanalytical psychotherapeutic interventions. I dealt with various issues of the employees there who came to me directly or through referral. We also conducted stress audit for the company to provide understanding of their employees stress to reduce attrition rate. I also conducted group training workshops on stress, work-life balance and other work related psychological issue. I have trained DU professors to be their student advisors, school teachers to identify students for referrals and to work as co-therapists at school. I also take students for internship during their PG courses and trainee them for testing and counselling. I am also an external supervisor for students for their research projects. I am currently an associate member with the Indian psychoanalytical society. Understanding the significance of Families in India I acquired training in Family Therapy under Dr Shelija Sen (Clinical Psychologist & Family Therapist). I am also a member of the Indian Association of Family Therapy. I have also worked as Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist (HOD psychology department) at Asha USA. Here I was heading a team of 3 psychologists. Here my role included Psychometric testing and Individual, Family and Group Psychotherapy at the clinic. I also gave workshops and talks at schools and corporate companies. We provided secondary support to companies dealing with psychological aspects of corporate companies. My past experience at Delhi Psychiatric Center, Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital and Air Force CME included management of psychiatric patients from case workup to clinical diagnosis, psychometric assessments to Psycho-therapeutic intervention. Here I developed skills for differential diagnosis, wide variety of psychometric testing and also therapeutic intervention based on diagnosis tailored to the need of the individual. Here, I was also trained in various psychotherapeutic interventions relationship problems and other psychological problems. My extensive exposure of working with children and Adolescents come from my experience at Various schools, ORKIDS (during PG diploma in Management of Learning Disability), and hospitals like; Lady Harding Medical College, Air Force CME, Delhi Psychiatric Centre and Lok Nayak hospital (during M.Phil. Clinical Psychology).
